Architectural ACP Cladding Signboard & Push-Through Acrylic Edge-Lit Channel Letters

I-Glam Salon & Academy (Corporate Beauty Division) ยท Main Street Commercial Hub, Jinja City, Eastern Region, Uganda

We engineered and installed a sleek matte-black ACP storefront fascia with push-through warm-white acrylic 3D lettering and custom edge-lit service pods, delivering maximum visual impact along Jinja's main commercial corridor.

About this project

This exterior commercial branding project required a robust, modern architectural facade for a high-traffic salon and training academy located along Jinja's bustling central business district. Our engineering team constructed a weather-resistant subframe clad with dark matte-black Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP). The main logo mark, primary typography ("I - GLAM SALON"), and lower service highlight pods ("HAIR", "SKIN", "BEAUTY", "ACCADEMY") were precision CNC-routed directly through the metal panel face.

We manufactured 18mm thick opal optical acrylic letter blocks, push-fitted from behind so they extend 10mm outward past the metal surface. High-efficiency IP67 warm-white LED modules installed within the internal backing cabinet cast light directly through the translucent face while diffusing out the polished acrylic letter edges. This dual-action refraction creates a bold, floating 3D "faux-neon" halo around every letter, guaranteeing high-contrast readability during both daytime and night-time operation.

Challenge

-Seamless ACP Panel Joinery: Ensuring a clean, weather-tight joint across a wide exterior storefront fascia without visible fasteners or light leakage between panel seams.

-Push-Through Precision: Router tolerances had to be exact so the 3D acrylic letters fit tightly into the aluminum composite cutouts, preventing moisture penetration and unwanted light gaps.

-Thermal Management: Housing high-lumen LED modules inside a sealed ACP cabinet requires adequate airflow to prevent heat buildup and extend component lifespans under tropical sun conditions.

Solution

-CNC V-Grooving & Concealed Bracket Assembly: The ACP sheets were V-grooved on the reverse side and folded around a structural aluminum tubing frame, eliminating face-exposed rivets and ensuring light-tight joints.

-Precision Rubber-Gasketed Acrylic Insertion: Optical acrylic blocks were routed with a stepped lip and sealed with clear silicone gaskets, creating an IP65 moisture-proof barrier behind the front panel face.

-Passive Cabinet Ventilation: Thermal release vents were engineered into the underside of the top overhang, allowing hot air to dissipate while keeping internal components dry and dust-free.

Result

The completed ACP and acrylic shopfront board provides I-Glam Salon with an unmissable, ultra-modern identity in Jinja City. The warm, inviting glow of the push-through letters elevates the entire building facade, establishing a high corporate standard for architectural outdoor acrylic signage and edge-lit channel letter installations across Uganda.
