Industrial Storefront 3D Acrylic Letter Signboard & Halo-Lit Faux-Neon Architectural Signage

We fabricated and installed an industrial exterior storefront sign featuring elevated 3D acrylic lettering with edge-refracting halo backlighting and precision vinyl graphic accents for a modern hospitality hub in Kampala.

About this project

This commercial storefront project required a durable, high-impact exterior architectural sign designed to maximize night-time visibility and corporate appeal in Bugolobi, Kampala. Our fabrication team built a heavy-duty composite backing board with a matte cream powder-coated finish. For the main brand mark ("HAUS OF BITES"), we CNC-routed solid 3D acrylic letters with dark matte faces and polished clear acrylic edges.

High-output, weather-sealed IP67 LED modules were mounted inside and behind each dimensional letter to create a dramatic warm-gold halo illumination. By utilizing edge-refracting optical acrylic for the letter sides, light spills around the perimeter, giving the crisp geometric font a high-end "faux-neon" glow without raw LED hot spots. The lower cursive slogan ("Global Flavors Crafted with Passion") was cut from high-grade exterior vinyl to contrast with the illuminated 3D elements above.

Challenge

-Weatherproofing & Heat Dissipation: Exterior installation in Uganda requires waterproofing against heavy tropical rain while ensuring LED modules dissipate heat efficiently during continuous night operation.

-Structural Rigidity on Facades: Mounting a large composite signboard securely onto an uneven concrete architectural facade while hiding electrical conduit and low-voltage power supplies.

-Consistent Edge Illumination: Ensuring that both the circular logo icon on the left and the block typography on the right emitted an equal, balanced warmth across the entire length of the sign.

Solution

-IP67 Sealed LED Systems & Marine Acrylic: We utilized silicon-encapsulated LED modules and industrial UV-stabilized optical acrylic that will not yellow or degrade under intense equatorial sunlight.

-Concealed Aluminum Subframe: An internal aluminum square-tubing frame was engineered to offset the sign slightly from the exterior wall, providing hidden routing channels for wiring and transformers.

-Calibrated Voltage Distribution: Power was fed in parallel across multiple 12V DC power units hidden within the mounting structure, preventing voltage drop and ensuring consistent brightness across all 3D letters.

Result

The newly installed storefront signboard provides Haus of Bites with an unmissable, professional corporate presence in Bugolobi. The combination of solid 3D lettering and rich halo backlighting makes the location easily identifiable from afar, driving foot traffic and reinforcing the client's premium brand image. This project demonstrates how industrial exterior acrylic signage and edge-lit channel concepts deliver long-lasting, weatherproof performance for growing businesses across Uganda.
